My Neighbor's Dilemma
My elderly neighbors are wading through water to get into their homes every time it rains...I can't believe our condo's board has not made this a priority! I'd love to know what you think about this?

this is unacceptable conditions for these people
ReplyDeleteWho could possibly be so cold and inept to have conditions like this and do nothing about it? I agree....totally unacceptable. Animals aren't treated like this. Does this condo have a Board?
ReplyDeleteIf so, what is the Board doing about this condition?
in answer to the above...yes, we have a board of managers who have failed to do anything about this for a few years now telling these condo owners in a not so nicely way that they just need to live with it etc; this is why i took the videos to try to put a fire under our board to remedy this situation asap ..
ReplyDeleteI think it is TERRIBLE your elderly neighbours have to walk unsafely through slippery water, each time it rains in order to get to their homes.Something Has to be done.
ReplyDeleteI am proud to see you have stepped forward, by video taping their dilemma. How would the board feel if either or anyone slipped or fell, and was injured &/or sued .Why does one wait for a disaster to happen before something is done? Isn't prevention better.?
This is a shame !
I do hope ,this is not only being looked into ,but something is actually being done to remedy this grave concern.
I wish you the best of luck.
Sincerely
Myrna
I read your email this morning about the board's attitude of not evaluating our current drainage plan that is not working. FYI, Bill Chance asked me to come to the June board meeting to put my name in the hat for an empty board seat. I showed up at 6:30 as per our bylaws, and was greeted with complete contempt. I am the reason they changed the bylaws to have "Executive Sessions". I would suggest that at this point we read our bylaws to see how to have our own emergency meeting regarding the drainage issue before we waste any more money. Short of impeaching our current board who won't listen or provide any concrete information, what else can we do? I Will drag out my bylaws from 2007, that is all that I have, and see what can be done. I appreciate your initiative Caroline, and let me know if there is anything that you might know of to help our situation.
ReplyDelete@Kristin; I am in Canada at the moment but would love to speak with you when I return Aug. 3rd.
